In our own private castle
It’s not every day that you get an enquiry and the location is a castle, that the wedding couple have hired out for private exclusive use.
Rizwana and Andrew celebrated their union over two magical days, in small and intimate ceremonies that honoured both their cultures and backgrounds.
Day 1 was a beautiful ceremony at Dewsbury Town Hall, and Day 2 was the Nikah ceremony at Fernhill Castle. What stood out on both days was even though there was only a small gathering of friends and family, was how much love was felt from them all, even Andrew’s family got to be a part of the celebrations as they joined on Zoom from Australia. With so many personal touches from Australian flowers in the bouquet, to Rizwana and Andrew’s friends decorating the ceremony room and castle themselves.
What really stood out to me about the days was just how wonderful this group of people were, Rizwana and Andrew have such wonderful friends and family, we were made to feel so welcome and with so much generosity, we were spoilt with many offering of fabulous food throughout the day!
Fernhill Castle really is a stunning location, it is full of history, unique features and absolute treat to stay at. The Castle is full to the brim of amazing furniture, decorative pieces and art work, including hidden gems of little mice carved into the woodwork, created by master craftsman, Robert Thompson. Once you have finished exploring inside, head outside to beautiful grounds and views.
